Andrew Jackson Penny was born Jan. 3, 1840 and died Jul. 31, 1917 in Hamilton County, Tennessee. He enlisted into the service on Feb. 25, 1862 and served as a Private in Company C, 5th Regiment of the Tennessee Infantry. Who We Are........................ The National Society Daughters of the Union 1861-1865 was founded October 9, 1912 in New York City by Mrs. Frank Crowell. The Society honors the soldiers and patriots who were dedicated to preserving the Union during the Civil War. The Andrew Jackson Penny Chapter organized May 25, 2009 and was chartered on March 6, 2010 in Chattanooga, Tennessee in.a ceremony held at the Downtown Library. Alma Webb is our Organizing regent. Our chapter meets 3 to 4 times a year in the Hamilton County area.
